EDWIN M. HACKING-A LIFE OF SERVICE

Tyson's father, Edwin Hacking, passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning when he was walking into church for early meetings. He was given a priesthood blessing immediately, and a retired physician tried to resesitate him, but he was taken swiftly.
Tyson flew back over to China on Monday night to be with his mother, and to help her, and they are coming back Thursday at midnight. We are still figuring out everything out right now.
I just wanted to post about how grateful Tyson and I both are that we were able to spend time with his father and mother just a week before he passed away. We have wonderful memories that we will cherish forever. When we said goodbye just the last Sunday before last, we were able to give each other a good tight hug and exchange I love you's, of course with some sweet tears. How truly blessed we are that Heavenly Father let us share experiences together before he was called back.
Tyson's father was a wonderful man, and I have so many great memories of him, he always was so kind and loving to me. A friend that Edwin taught with in China said that since there were so many Chinese people killed in the recent earthquake, so much missionary work is needed on the other side, and I just think that is beautiful. We miss him so much, but know he is in a better place, we love and miss you dad.

You're right, what a blessing that you were able to be there so recently to spend time with both of them. We are thinking of you both, and hope you have safe travels between here and there.

James told me on Sunday about Ed passing and my heart ached for you two. I also immediately thought about how lucky you were to get to spend time with him. I am truly sorry for your loss. Know that I am thinking and praying for you all.

I posted something on another blog, but its not there I guess. I was late for church when they announced his passing and then when they said the prayer the man asked to bless your family, and I couldn't believe my ears. But seriously this feeling did come over me, that he was where he needed to be and that everything would be okay.!! I hope you guys are doing well!! How awesome is it to know that your parent was a very wonderful person, who was loved my many!! He always had a little smile on his face too!!! Take care, you are truly in all our prayers and the Maeser 2nd ward, feels such a loss, but know he is where he needs to be.
Good luck!!! Keep your chin held HIGH!!!

Dani, I had heard 'Ed Hacking' somewhere in the air today... at church or on the radio... I can't remember - but it just stuck with me and I wondered if that was Tyson's Dad's name. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I'll be thinking of you two.

We got a phone call from Rachelle (Perry) yesterday letting us know about your sweet Dad. So sorry to hear of his passing. But so happy you were able to see him on your trip...and to know where he is now is a huge comfort. Our whole family is thinking and praying for you guys and your mom. (This happened to my husband's mother two years ago while she was on her mission in Washington DC. It was sudden.) We empathize and love you guys. Karen and Brian
