FAREWELL TRIBUTE

When my husband and I heard the news of the passing of our dear Prophet, I do not remember feeling sad or upset. I felt this amazing feeling of peace, and this is for many reasons, but I knew he was in heaven reuniting with our Savior, and especially his sweetheart. He lived a long and full life, and even though I will miss hearing his encouraging words at conference and other meetings, I had peace. The church is organized, and is a house of order, I knew there would be no voting and campaigning for the next President of our church. I knew that everything would just work out peacefully.
My husband and I sing in our ward choir. Tyson has a beautiful voice, he has sang in our previous choirs and has sang in duets, quartets, and even played a wise man in a Christmas pageant. He doesn't really like it, but he really adds to the choir. I don't really have a singing voice, I always played the piano, but I go to choir for moral support for Tyson. Our choir sang yesterday in sacrament, a tribute to President Hinckley. We sang "I Know That My Reedember Lives" written by Gordon B. Hinckley himself, and then went right into the first verse of "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." I could barely sing, the spirit was so strong, and the music was beautiful, it was such a neat way to remember our dear Prophet.
Then, after church, we had choir practice, and the choir director has chosen a Easter song by Janice Kapp Perry, but the words were actually written by President Hinckley. It is titled, "What is This Thing Called Death?" It was sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at President Hinckley's funeral. There is a really neat story about this song, and if you want to read it, go to this link:
Gordon B. Hinckley was an astounding example and leader for all to look to. He related stories to all ages. He always seemed so positive and uplifting to listen to. It was such a great experience to sing in tribute to his life yesterday, and I look forward to singing another song written by him on Easter Sunday. I also look forward to sustaining and following our new Prophet, Thomas S. Monsen. We live in such exciting times.
I really love this picture, its almost as if President Hinckley is waiving goodbye for a time...

PRESIDENT'S DAY

I love all holidays, including President's Day. I love to celebrate anything, plus, I love getting a day off work to spend with my family. My sister came out this weekend with her sweet little boy. We spent Saturday going shopping (there were awesome deals for Presdident's Day), eating lunch at Cafe Rio, more shopping, and then my sweetie barbecued steaks for us for dinner. Sunday, we rested, went to church, played games and had an awesome dinner together. Monday, President's Day, we went and did a little more shopping before my sister had to head back to Vernal. Her little boy, Rooks, was such a cutie. He has the cutest little grin, I just love him to death. I was so sad they had to leave.

After Nikki and Rooks left, Tyson and I decided to go on a date. We took a loaf of bread down to Sugarhouse Park and fed the ducks and geese. It was such a beautiful day, there were kids sledding, and tons of people out walking and running. It makes me so excited for spring!

After feeding the birds, we went bowling. I got 115 on the first round, beating Tys, and then the second round he got a 148, and I didn't even break 100. We had the best time at this little rink a dink bowling place by our house. We had never been bowling just the two of us, we had so much fun just hanging out, not having to be somewhere right away.

I am grateful for Presidents that have led, and do lead this great country of America. I am proud to be an American. I am grateful that we get to celebrate America's Presidents, and the great men that they were and are. Tyson and I are very blessed and feel gratfeul to our Heavenly Father to live in America and enjoy the freedoms that we have. We have gratitude in our hearts every day for God's great creations and for his love that we feel in our lives.

TO MY VALENTINE

How did you meet your Valentine?

Tyson is my sweetie and my forever Valentine!

1. Where did you meet? The first time I saw him, he was riding down the street in front of Andrea's old house on a dirt bike, I was probably 14. We grew up in the same small town, and knew each other in high school.

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? Well, when I saw him riding his dirt bike, I asked Andrea who that was, and she said, "Tyson, our families are really good friends." I went home and wrote in my journal that I was going to marry Tyson someday.

3. Do you remember what she/he was wearing? I remember a big black helmet.

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? We were watching the movie "Radio" with my mom at my parents house, and she went downstairs to make popcorn, and he kissed me.

5. How did he/she ask you out? Tyson is really good at inviting a bunch of people to get together, so he just started calling me and inviting me to hang out. At one of the get togethers, he walked me to my car, and we have been with each other every day since.

6. Where did you go for your first date? Our official first date was when he came over to my parents house and we played pool, then went to FHE at our single's ward, and then watched a movie at our friend's house. He covered my eyes at the gory parts (we were watching Braveheart), and then held my hand the rest of the movie.

7.How long did you know this person before you became a couple? Probably 6 or 7 years.

8. Has this person ever proposed to you? Yes, we fell for each other pretty quickly, so quickly, that it kind of scared both of us. On Feb. 28, 2004, we were sitting in my parent's hot tub, and he told me he wanted to marry me. He went home, and the next day, Feb 29 (leap year day) we had planned a big camping trip with a bunch of friends. It had snowed/rained all day, it was February! But we all still went camping. We have a really great spot, its next to these huge white cliffs that reflect the sunlight all day, so there was no snow at our camping spot, and it was pretty warm. Tyson and I went for a hike, it was about ten at night, and at this really high point, he got down on his knee and said, "Last night I told you I want to marry you, tonight, I'd like to ask you to marry me." It was very romantic, something I'll never forget. Since it was a leap year day, we get to celebrate the "first" anniversary since we got engaged this year, and you guessed it, we are going camping, but in Moab, where its a little warmer.

9. Do you and this person have kids together? Not yet, but we are hoping to.

10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? Um... yes.

11. When was the first time you realized that you liked this person? After he got home from his mission, and I returned to Vernal from spending 2 1/2 years in Salt Lake going to school, I saw him at the Singles Ward. When our eyes met, I knew there was something.

13. Do you trust this person? He is my world, yes.

14. Do you see your partner in your future? Yes, in eternity.

15. Whats the most expensive thing this person has given you? My wedding ring and a piano, for our first anniversary.

16. What is one thing he/she does that gets on your nerves? I can't complain about one thing, he treats me like a queen every single day.

17. What is the thing you do that gets on his/her nerves? I am not patient enough sometimes.

18. Where do you see each other in 15 years from now? Hopefully with kids, living and loving life together.

19.Will this person repost this? No, we share a blog page.

I would love to hear about how you met your Love, so anyone feel free to post.
Tyson emailed me one day with this picture, asking me if I would still love him if he looked like this... He has way to much fun with photoshop, and yes, I will always love you sweetie!

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Okay, so I have been feeling a little funny lately. I've been super busy, leaving for 10 days during pre-tax season is a little risky when you do accounting for parents, in-laws, brother-in-law's company, my own, my work's, and another tentative client. I want to be able to bookkeeping/accounting for clients when we have a family. But all of a sudden I have seven different people I am doing bookkeeping for, oh and I work full time besides that... its kind of a balancing act, and I think I really might be crazy.

So, where I am going with this... I have had to cancel my dentist appt to get my teeth cleaned three different times, due to the crazy work schedule. So, I made the appt after we got back from vacation. The night before the appt, I didn't sleep hardly at all. I had really funny dream that I got a lead in a play, and the opening day, my wig didn't fit, I forgot all the lines, and it was just a huge mess, I couldn't balance everything. Hum??? I think my dreams are telling me something...

Anyway, I woke up at about 3ish, 4ish, not sure, and all I could smell was potroast. I brushed my teeth and gargled with mouth wash, hoping the minty smell would overpower the dinner smell. NOPE! I put on lotion, perfume, and just nothing seemed to get the smell out of my head. There was nothing in my stomache, but was feeling super nautious from smelling potroast for the last few hours. I usually work out in the mornings, early, before work, and instead of working out, I got back in bed and put the covers over my head. Tyson didn't know what to think. It was 7:15 and I was still in bed, both of us needing to be to work in 45 minutes. I drug my butt out of bed and took a shower, pulled my hair in a pony tail and went to work. I ate a piece of toast on the way, and the potroast smell was slowly fading (by the way, Tyson said our house, car, and work DID NOT smell like potroast). I went to my dentist appt, and no cavities, good news, and in an instant, the beefy smell was gone, and nasea was, poof, gone!

I think I stressed out a little too much about a silly appt, or my dreams, or something, but my hubby thinks my body is trying to tell me something... even if it has to do it by having me smell potroast.
